Trees still available for purchase
Something as simple as planting a tree can help you save on your monthly electric costs. Shade trees cool the outer wall temperature of your home by as much as 20 degrees, meaning your air conditioner won’t have to work as hard to keep your home cool. And that means a lower summer electric bill.Trico Members can purchase up to three low-cost, low-water use trees through the Operation Cool Shade program. Trees are $20 each and five gallons in size. Varieties are Blue Palo Verde, Red Push Pistache, Desert Willow and Velvet Mesquite. Each Trico Member can buy up to three trees.
