If you want to have the powerline installed to your home, the process will differ depending on whether you’re requesting a new service or an upgrade to an existing service.
- For New Service: You will need to complete an Individual Service Application. This application is required to request any new electrical service, including underground installations. Once your application is submitted, a Trico designer will conduct a site visit to evaluate the installation requirements, including the best route for the power line and associated costs.
- For Existing Service (Upgrade): If you are upgrading an existing service, you will need to fill out an Upgrade Application. Similar to the new service process, a Trico designer will schedule a site visit to assess the current setup and design solutions. This visit will help determine the feasibility and costs. For more information regarding fees, please see the Applicable Fees.
- Meter Panel Specifications: The member is also responsible for installing a meter panel that meets Trico’s electric service requirements. Please refer to the Electric Service Requirements for detailed specifications on meter panel placement and installation.
Trenching: The member is responsible for all excavation including trench line and device locations, and installing the conduit for the powerline extension after a Trico designer has marked the trench route. The trench must meet the required depth and specifications as outlined in the Electric Service Requirements in section 6 (Underground Requirements).
