OUTAGE TIPS & RECOMMENDATIONS
OUTAGE TIPS & RECOMMENDATIONS
Trico works year-round to provide dependable electric service. Summer monsoon storms often bring strong winds that cause unexpected damage. Trico is prepared to respond quickly when damage occurs, but outages are still possible.
Follow these helpful tips and recommendations to be prepared when outages occur.
FIRST STEPS
Check the fuses/circuit breaker and make repairs if needed. If power is still off, check your neighborhood to see if it’s isolated to your home. To report an outage, call Trico at
(520) 744-2944 or use SmartHub.
MOBILE DEVICES
Have extra batteries and a car charger for your mobile devices. Keep phone use to a minimum and only communicate for safety purposes. Conserve battery by reducing screen brightness, placing your phone in airplane mode, and closing unused apps.
EMERGENCY SUPPLIES
Know the location of flashlights and a radio, and be sure to have extra batteries. Have a supply of water in the house – FEMA recommends a three-day supply.
FOOD STORAGE
SWITCHES
Switch off all unnecessary lights and appliances to prevent overloaded circuits when power is restored.
VEHICLES
Keep your car gas or electric tank half full. Gas and electric charging stations rely on electricity to power their pumps.
MEDICAL NEEDS
Talk with your medical provider about an outage plan for medical devices powered by electricity/refrigerated medicines. Inform Trico if you have life sustaining equipment and submit this form or contact memberservices@trico.coop.
