CUSTOMER NOTICE – CHANGE IN RATES
TRICO ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE INC.
DOCKET NO. E01461A-24-0244
On November 13, 2025, the Arizona Corporation Commission issued Decision No. 81550, which approved new rates and charges for Trico Electric Cooperative, Inc. The updated rates and charges shall be effective for all service on and after January 1, 2026. The new rates include an increased monthly customer charge for residential members of $25.00 (from $20.00) and an increased electric usage rate of $0.131760 per kWh. Non-residential members also will see an increase of $5.00 per month in the monthly customer charge and increases in the demand and usage rates depending on their customer class.
Based on the new rates, the typical residential monthly bill for a member with average usage of 935 kWh per month will increase by approximately $10.10, or 7.23 percent, from $139.79 to $149.89. An individual member’s bill impact will depend on that member’s actual usage. In addition to the collection of regular rates and surcharges, Trico will collect a proportionate share of any privilege, sales, use, and franchise tax.
Per Decision No. 81550, the Commission authorized Trico to recover $150,000 in rate case expense in this matter through a monthly surcharge. The Rate Case Expense Surcharge is calculated to be $0.07 per customer per month, which will be added to each customer bill beginning January 1, 2026, and will terminate once the rate case expense of $150,000 has been fully recovered. Decision No. 81550 also required Trico to continue to bill its current Renewable Energy surcharge as previously approved by the Commission.
