is there a fee to connect service?

Yes, a $50 Establishment Fee is billed on the first monthly bill.

Deposits must be made prior to connecting or transferring service. Payment is required in full. The deposit will be refunded to your Trico account after 12 months of history and no more than two delinquent notices within the past 12 months, If your credit history does not meet the requirement to refund your deposit, it will continue to stay on your account until it can be refunded or applied to your final bill.

A minimum two day notice to schedule your order is required. Appointments are not available, work is completed according to the individual Technician’s schedule and work load.

Access to the meter must be provided. Locked gates or animals that prevent the Technician from accessing the meter will result in a return trip and additional $50 field trip fee.

The name or names of the person(s) that will be responsible for the electric bill.

Physical address, mailing address (if different) and home phone, cell phone and valid email address. Employer, previous address and length of lease, if applicable.

Trico may ask for a social security number, driver’s license number or date of birth to confirm identity of the responsible party and for security purposes.

Trico will require either a letter of credit from your existing electric provider showing a minimum of 24 months of consecutive service and no more than two delinquent/late notices within the most recent 12 months. If your letter of credit does not meet the criteria, you will be required to pay an advanced deposit to equal an average two-month bill for the location you are moving into.

Extending Your Power
for property owners

This application is for property owners interested in having new Trico facilities designed and constructed on vacant, undeveloped land. This is not for existing homes that have already been built.

After we review your application, a New Service Technician will contact you requesting any additional required information, or will provide you with the Work Order number assigned to your request. The construction process may take six to twelve weeks from the time Trico receives the completed application. You can also track the status of your work order through SmartHub.

To successfully apply for an individual service application, we will need the following documentation:

  • Property and permit information
  • Type and size of service
  • Site plan or construction documents
  • Legal description from Property Title

 

WHAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Before work can be undertaken, Trico applicants need to be aware of the responsibilities listed below. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these requirements, you can contact Trico at: (520) 744-2944 ext. 2731.

  • Identify new meter location
  • Identify property corners
  • Obtain permits from proper Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). View contact info below.

  • Provide meter pedestal or panel

Before work can be undertaken, Trico applicants need to obtain permits from proper Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ):

 

*NOTE: For MOBILE HOMES ONLY, Trico requires both county and state  clearance and Trico’s final inspection before energizing your meter.

  • Line Extension Costs, all applicable fees, to be determined at a later date, shall be paid to the Cooperative, prior to construction. (See rule 203.D of Trico’s current Trico Rules Regulations Line Extension Policy (RRLEP).
  • A Design Deposit may be required to prepare detailed line extension plans. Such advance will be applied to the final cost. (See rule 201.B of Trico’s current RRLEP).
  • Billing Deposit or Letter of Credit from present electric company. (See rule 124 & 128 of Trico’s current RRLEP).
  • $100.00 New Service Establishment Fee plus applicable taxes will be billed on your first bill (one time charge).
  • $20.00 per month, Fixed Monthly Charge plus applicable taxes, in accordance with Trico’s Residential (RS1) Rate Tariff. (See rule 109, 139, & 140 of Trico’s current RRLEP).

Modifying Service

Trico offers the following services for modifying existing facilities:

  • Service upgrades
  • Service relocation
  • Repairs to service panel or pedestal
  • Remove existing service or other facilities
  • Convert facilities to above ground or underground

Modifying Existing Service

Requirements, rules, and regulations

Some or all of these may be applicable, depending on your request.

  • Provide service entrance equipment.
  • Excavation, Backfill, and Conduit Installation.
  • Contact AZ811 before digging.
  • Identify new meter location.
  • Identify property corners.
  • Obtain easements (if required).
  • Complete Trico Interconnection Agreement (Backup Generator).
  • Obtain permits from proper Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). View contact info below.

Before work can be undertaken, Trico applicants need to obtain permits from proper Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ):

 

*NOTE: For MOBILE HOMES ONLY, Trico requires both county and state  clearance and Trico’s final inspection before energizing your meter.

Some or all of these may be applicable, depending on your  modification of service request:

  • $50.00 Reconnect Fee will be billed on your next bill for any service that is disconnected and reconnected (non-refundable). (See rule 135 of Trico’s current RRLEP).
  • A nonrefundable contribution advance may be required by the Applicant prior to Trico’s construction, for any new facilities and/or labor that Trico is required to provide due to your request.
  • Design & Right of Way fee may be required to prepare detailed plans for large alteration or conversion projects. This paid fee will be applied to the final cost (See Rule 201.B of Trico’s RRLEP’s).
