Distribution Line Projects
I-19 Crossing
This project upgrades aging power lines in the Sahuarita Town Center area to improve electrical capacity and reliability. It replaces existing overhead infrastructure with a more robust double‑circuit 500 MCM system. A key component is converting the I‑19 crossing to underground construction to ensure long‑term system resilience. The work completes the final segment of a multi‑phase improvement plan supporting ongoing community growth. The expected completion date is November 3, 2026. You can view a map of the project here.

Dove Mountain
Crews are adding an additional three miles of conductor in existing conduit to connect our Adonis and Thornydale substation circuits in the Dove Mountain area. This tie-in is needed to reduce reliance on the Thornydale substation and enhance reliability, leading to less outages and quicker outage response times. Construction is expected to last from February 2, 2026 through May 15, 2026 (originally April 10, 2026). Areas affected include: From W Buckeye Path to N Dove Mountain Blvd. Section 2: From N Silver Ravine Pl along W Patina Dr, continuing W Boulder Bridge Pass and 0.1 miles west to W Rockpoint Ridge Pl . Sanders Road
This project involves the reconstruction and upgrade of approximately 7.2 miles of existing distribution line along Sanders Road. View a map of the project here. Trico will replace the current small conductor single-circuit 25kV distribution line with a double-circuit line using extra-large conductors. The upgrade will also include installing new wood poles along the main line and steel poles at corner and angle points for added strength and durability.
Construction is expected to last approximately four months. During this time Trico will work to minimize disruptions and maintain reliable service to our Members.
