At Trico, it is important to us that our Members understand the charges outlined on their bill. The following graphics offer explanations for the typical bills our Members receive.

Trico Electric Bill Example

1. Name

Name of primary account holder.

2. Account Number

A unique number that identifies the specific account set up under your membership number for the meter being tracked by this bill.

3. Statement Date

This is the date that your bill was mailed to you.

4. Message Box

From time to time this box will contain special messages from Trico.

5. Previous Balance

This is the total due on your last bill.

6. Payment Received

All payments received since your last bill.

7. Balance Forward

The difference between the amount due on the last billing cycle and payments received.

8. Payment Date

The difference between the amount due on the last billing cycle and payments received.

9. Total Amount Due

This amount includes both the current amount due and balance forward.

10. Total Amount Due

This amount includes both the current amount due and any balance forward.

11. Service Address

This is the address of the location that is receiving service from Trico.

12. Contact Number

Your primary contact number.

13. Description

Your rate description.

14. kWh Usage

This sum is the Present Read minus the Previous Read.

15. Kilowatt Hours

This chart shows up to 13 months of history for a quick view of your usage.

16. Fixed Monthly Charge

This is the fixed monthly charge for maintaining your electric meter and the wires that bring electrical service to your home or business. It covers the cost of reading the meter, maintaining customer records and all other transactions affecting your account. This charge is incurred even if no electricity is used during the current cycle.

17. First 800 kWh

Electricity is measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh) and billed by how many kWh were used during the billing period. This rate includes the cost of generation, transmission and distribution for up to 800 kWh used during this month.

18. Over 800 kWh

Electricity is measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh) and billed by how many kWh were used during the billing period. This rate includes the cost of generation, transmission and distribution for usage over 800 kWh used during this month.

19. Power Cost Adjustment

The Power Cost Adjustor (PCA) is used to adjust your electric bill to reflect increases or decreases in the cost of electricity Trico purchases from its wholesale power supplier for distribution to its members.

20. DSM Surcharge

The Demand Side Management surcharge is a tariff the Arizona Corporation Commission authorizes utilities to assess to cover the costs associated with energy conservation and efficiency programs.

21. Renewable Energy Surcharge

The Renewable Energy Standard and Tariff surcharge is a tariff the Arizona Corporation Commission authorizes utilities to assess to cover the costs associated with renewable energy programs.

22. Sales Tax

This is the sales tax calculation for your bill.

23. Current Charges

This is the amount due for your current month’s billing not including any balance forward.

24. Monthly Energy Usage Comparison

This chart shows your usage for the current month and the same month a year ago.

25. Average Daily Cost

This average does not include tax and the Renewable Energy Surcharge.

26. Account Number

27. Total Amount Due

This amount includes both the current amount due & any balance forward.

28. Account Mailing Address

Net Metering Bill Example

13. We Delivered

Energy purchased from Trico at night or during the day when system is not generating enough energy for home’s needs.

14. We Received

Energy sent to Trico during day when system is generating morethan home is needing at a point in time.

15. Residential Service

Net difference of what “We Delivered” and “We Received.”

16. Your System Generated

Total system generation, does not affect billing calculation.

17. Previous Bank Balance

Banked kWh carried over from last billing cycle.

18. kWh Balance

kWh added or subtracted from bank for current billing statement.

19. Current Balance

Banked kWh to be carried to next billing cycle.

20. Fixed Monthly Charge

Fixed Monthly Charge is incurred even if no electricity is purchased from Trico during current usage cycle. Standard fee applied to all active member accounts.

21. Net Metering Monthly Charge

Incremental costs for the increased meter data (two meters) for Solar accounts.

22. Sales Tax

This is the sales tax calculation for your bill.

23. Average Daily Cost

This average does not include tax and the Renewable Energy Surcharge.

DG Energy Export Bill Example

Energy sold to Trico during the day when system is generating more than energy consumed in the home at a point in time (NOT total generation). Associated number is the applicable DGEE Tariff year. i.e. 20 is the 2020 tariff year.

15. Your System Generated

Total system generation, does not affect billing calculation.

16. Fixed Monthly Charge

Charge is incurred even if no electricity is purchased from Trico. Standard fee applied to all active member accounts.

17. DG Energy Export kWh

Export credit for kWh received from excess solar generation and the export credit amount.

18. Monthly Data Cost

Incremental costs for the increased meter data (two meters) collection for Solar accounts.

Overview of meter data for complete billing cycle.

20. Account Number

EV Time-of-Use DG Energy Export Bill Example

Your total kWh usage including the kWh purchased outside of the 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM EV charging period and the kWh used during the specified charging period.

16. We Received DG Energy Export
