Trico Fiber Announcement:
We are excited to announce that 34 neighborhoods have qualified to be connected in Year One of our Trico Fiber build (approximately Fall 2026 through Summer 2027)! You may have seen our crews and contractors working on building our Fiber SmartGrid Backbone and fiber distribution network, and we are starting work extending fiber cable into neighborhoods that qualified for service in year one. Thank you to our Members for your overwhelming support of Trico Fiber. We are working hard to deliver fast, reliable, and affordable fiber internet service with cooperative values.
View the document here to see a list of the neighborhoods (with zone identification number listed) that qualified.
You can confirm which zone you are in by entering your address at fiber.trico.coop. If your zone did not qualify, please pre-subscribe to help your zone qualify for Year Two of the Trico Fiber build (approximately Summer 2027 through Summer 2028).
As we complete construction work, we will be sending emails to Members in the 34 qualified neighborhoods to let you know when you can select your preferred fiber internet package and sign up for fast, affordable service from Trico Fiber. Want to start picking the package you want in advance? View our FAQs regarding the packages Trico Fiber will offer here.
Here is some additional information on why we are building in this order and what to do if your zone did not qualify for Year One:
Why are we building in the order we are?
The order of the build for Trico Fiber broadband internet is based on proximity to the completed portions of the Trico SmartGrid Fiber backbone, the location of our internet central office at Trico’s headquarters at Tangerine Road and I-10, and our access point for connection to the internet (north of Trico’s service territory)
We will be starting our fiber-to-the-home build in the northern section of our service territory. Work will then progress west of Trico’s headquarters and continue through Avra Valley, Three Points, Sahuarita, New Tucson, and Green Valley. During the first 12 months, only the 34 neighborhoods that qualified will be connected, but we will continue to collect pre-subscriptions and expect to build out to other neighborhoods in the coming years.
How can I qualify for year two?
If your neighborhood did not qualify for connection in Year One (approximately Fall 2026 through Summer 2027), don’t worry! You can still pre-subscribe to help meet the targets for connection in Year Two (approximately Summer 2027 through Summer 2028). Here are some FAQs on the pricing and packages that will be offered. You can go to fiber.trico.coop to pre-subscribe now. Please pre-subscribe as soon as possible. We are already working to determine which zones will be connected in Year Two.
